With his bloodthirsty desires no longer to be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the tutelage of his father Harry. Christian Slater is older than James Remar was when Dexter (2006) first aired. Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025).
This isn’t quite as good
I’m a huge fan and loved both Dexter and Dexter: New Blood. The first episode left me feeling meh, but the second and third episodes really picked up and got me involved. I like most of the cast here.
It comes off as one-dimensional and flat
I usually love Sarah Michelle Gellar, but I feel like she’s portrayed so harshly and fragile with this character. The actor playing the young Bautista is terrible. He tries so hard to emulate the original actor/character that it comes across as a parody and very fake.
I didn’t mind that young Dexter is quite emotional
Maybe he’s more emotional because he’s young and can’t control himself as well as the more mature Dexter. I’m looking forward to more episodes and I’m really looking forward to Dexter: Resurrection. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
